The Concord Scout House is located in Concord town center. From Main street, it is in the second block of Walden Street, beyond the Concord Post Office and next to the Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Directions - By car

To the Concord Scout House from Boston and points east

  1. From I-95 (Route 128), take the Route 2 west Exit (29-B).

  2. Continue on Route 2 West, until the SECOND traffic light, about three miles west of the I-95/Route 128 exit, and about a mile after the first traffic light (which is at Route 2 & Bedford Road, Tracey's Corner).
This light is at the bottom of a hill, and Route 2 veers left at the intersection.
You should stay in the far right lane at this second traffic light in order to go straight onto Cambridge Turnpike towards Concord center.

  3. Continue on Cambridge Turnpike about one mile or so, until it comes to an end at a stop signed intersection with Lexington Road.
The Concord Museum will be on your right just before the end of Cambridge Turnpike.

  4. Bear left (more like a merge) onto Lexington Road, still heading towards the center of town.

  5. Continue on Lexington Road just a hundred or two hundred yards or so to the first left, Heywood Street.

  6. Take that left onto Heywood Street, and continue one short block to Walden Street.

  7. Take a right onto Walden Street.

  8. The Concord Scout House is at 74 Walden Street, about the sixth building on the left, set back about 100 feet from the street.
The Scout House is just before the Trinitarian Congregational Church, a large white church with a classic tall New England style steeple. If you pass the church or the Concord Post Office you've gone just a little too far.

  9. Public parking is behind the Concord Post Office and accessible by taking a left onto the alley immediately after Anderson Photo.

To the Concord Scout House from Worcester and points west

  1. From I-495, take the Route 2 east Exit (29-A).

  2. Continue on Route 2 east for about nine miles, until you encounter a rotary (traffic circle). Carefully traverse the rotary, remaining on Route 2 east.

  3. Continue on Route 2 east through 4 traffic lights. These are:
    • Elm Street (immediately after the rotary)
    • Route 66/Main Street (just over the hill from Elm St)
    • Emerson Hospital (on your right, just beyond the light)
    • Sudbury Road (Arena Farm on you left, beyond the light)

  4. After the fourth traffic light, get into the left lane and turn left at the fifth traffic light onto Walden Street.
Turning right at the light would put you on Route 126 to Walden Pond.

  5. After about one half mile, bear right at the fork, remaining on Walden Street. The Concord-Carlisle Regional High School is on your left at the fork.

  6. Cross Heywood Street at the four-way stop sign.

  7. Public parking is behind the Concord Post Office and accessible by taking a left onto the alley immediately after Anderson Photo.

Directions - By public transportation

The MBTA's Fitchburg/South Acton commuter rail line stops in Concord Center, which is at the intersection of Thoreau and Sudbury Streets.

Getting to the Concord Scout House from the Concord Center MBTA commuter rail train station (not the West Concord train station) is about a half mile walk.

  1. Walk north on Sudbury Road toward the library; Sudbury Road crosses the tracks between the Starbucks and Cumberland Farms; standing on the platform, north is towards the Dunkin Donuts (and away from Chang An Restaurant).

  2. At the Concord Library, veer right on Main Street toward the shops.

  3. At the Concord Toy Shop, turn right on Walden Street. Walk past the Concord Post Office and cross Hubbard St.

  4. The Concord Scout House is at 74 Walden Street, the second building on the right after crossing Hubbard and is set back about 100 feet from the street. The first building is the Trinitarian Congregational Church, a large white church with a classic tall New England style steeple.
