Since its renovation in 1930, the Scout House has relied on donations and volunteers. The Board of Directors volunteer time throughout the year to manage the building and its activities for the benefit of Scouting and Concord community recreation. Hundreds of people contribute during the year either in response to our fundraising letters or simply because they appreciate the house. We could not succeed without the support of a wonderful community!
The Scout House relies on the generous contributions of its community of users to maintain the building. In 2004, the Scout House spent about $45,000 for capital repairs and improvements, and with your and others' generous contributions, aims to replenish its much depleted building fund. Donations
The Scout House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.

Rentals for private events cover 90% of basic operations. The Scout House does not charge any user fees to the Concord Scouts (Girl Scouts, Brownies, Boy Scouts, or Cub Scouts) to support their meetings, sleepovers, ceremonies and activities. Rental fees to non-profit organizations can be discounted to keep the Concord Scout House accessible to a wide range of community events.
Funds to cover the operating shortfall and any financially significant work must come from our friends.
In keeping with our mission to foster wholesome recreation for youth and adults, the Board of Directors reviews the use and cost of the house.
Volunteering
To volunteer, call the office and talk with a Director. There are two ways to contribute to the Scout House as a volunteer: serve on the Board of Directors or offer assistance to the Board. Fundraising ideas and assistance are always appreciated!
The Board of Directors consists of volunteers who meet on the second Tuesday each month and manage the various tasks of maintaining the Scout House. Directors are elected for three year terms and are limited to two consecutive terms. They are elected at the Annual Meeting of members in June.
Members of the Concord Scout House are residents in or near Concord who have paid annual dues of $25. To become a member, indicate your interest when you send your contribution to the Scout House.
The Annual Meeting of Scout House members is at 7:30 on the second Tuesday in June at the Scout House. At this meeting the Board reports on the running of the Scout House during the year, and new Directors and officers are elected. Members are invited to attend.
